Fried Sandwich
I watched so many tutorials and recipes about sandwiches on the internet. The one that I have never taste is fried sandwich. Therefore, I challenged myself to make one and shared it with others. Here is my recipe.
Supplies
Ingredients:
Bread
Ham
Bacon
Mozarella Cheese
3 Eggs
All-purpose Flour
Oil for frying
Potato (optional)
Salt
Black Pepper
Garlic Powder (for French fries, optional)
Prepared Bread Crumb
Before making the bread crumb, preheat the oven to 350°F. Place five slices of bread nicely on the baking sheet. Bake them for about 10 minutes. Flip them and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the breads are dry to touch, but not too brown or toast. Remove from the heat and let them cool. Grind them into the food processor. Put the bread crumb on the plate. Set aside.
Eggs
Crack the eggs into the bowl. Add some salt and pepper.
Blend with fork until incorporated.
Ham and Bacon
Place ham and bacon to the frying pan. Fry them gently until all brownish. Set aside.
Trimming the Bread
Trim the edges of the each slice of bread. This is optional. You may skip this step if you like.
Flour
Prepare some flour on the plate.
Arrange the Bread
Arrange the bread on the cutting board. Put some mozzarella cheese, bacon, and ham on the bread. In this step, I made some variations in bread fillings. The results are that some bread is filled with ham, bacon, and mozzarella cheese, and some are filled only with mozzarella cheese. It is entirely up to you to make variations of the bread fillings. After filling, top with another slice of bread. Press it gently.
Dipping the Bread-1
Dip each sandwich into the flour for each side. Make sure all sides are covered with flour nicely.
Dipping the Bread-2
Dip the bread to the egg mixture by using fork. Make sure all surfaces are covered with egg mixture.
Dipping the Bread-3
Place the bread to the bread crumb. Dip it until all surfaces are cover with bread crumb.
Frying
Fry the bread on the medium heat one sandwich at a time until golden brown. Flip it. Wait until all sides are golden brown. Prepare the plate covered with paper towel. Take out the sandwich and put on the plate and serve.
Optional: Homemade French Fries
This step is not a must. It is only optional. You can skip this step as you desire. I made a side dish for my sandwich, which is French Fries. It is very simple and not fancy at all. Peel off the potato and wash it completely. Cut the potato as shown in the picture. Sprinkle with some salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Fry them on medium heat. Drain them on the plate with a paper towel on it.
Time to Eat…
Now it is the time to serve the dish. After cooling, cut the sandwich in half. Serve it on the plate. For additional, I served this sandwich with my homemade French Fries. Enjoy! Thank you for reading my instructables.
