Fresh Strawberry Sauce
Easy way to make Fresh Strawberry Sauce. This makes a delicious topping to cheesecake, ice cream or shortcake.

It All Starts With the Strawberries
Ingredients:
2 pounds of strawberries hulled
1/2 cup of sugar
2 Tbps of water
1 tsp Balsamic Vinegar (optional)
Cornstarch mixture:
2 Tbps of water
2 teaspoons of corn starch
Cook the Strawberries
- Combine the strawberries, sugar, water , and balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Get it up to a simmer over medium to medium high heat stirring occasionally
- Once a simmer is reached, cover, reduce heat to low for 15 minutes
Thickener
While the strawberries are cooking for 15 minutes it's time to get the corn starch mixture ready
- Add 2 teaspoons of corn starch in 2 tablespoons of water.
- mix thoroughly and set aside until the strawberries are done cooking.
It All Comes Together
- add the corn starch mixture to the strawberries and stir continuously for 2-3 minutes
- Remove from heat and let cool for about 5 minutes
Blender Time
- Add the strawberries in their deliciously creamy sauce into a blender
- Puree until smooth
- When you blend the strawberries, you will introduce a lot of air into the mixture giving it a lighter color.
- The rich red color will return after the mixture sits for about 15-20 minutes.
- Cool and apply to Cheesecakes, Ice Cream, Strawberry shortcake, or anything else your heart desires.
