I know I love getting breakfast in bed on Mother's Day, and I try to return the favor for Dad on Father's Day.  My Hubby and I love French toast, it’s easy and tasty.  Yes, we love French toast.  Any bread will do, but homemade bread works best, in my opinion.  Here is how to make French toast.

Supplies:
Fry pan
Flat bottomed bowl
Fork
Whisk
Oil (I use olive oil)
Bread (I used my homemade loaf)
2 eggs
¼ cup Half and Half (half milk and half cream)
Cinnamon

Put the empty fry pan on the stove and turn the burner to medium high.  When the pan is hot, add the oil and let it get hot, too.  This is a little trick which prevents what you are pan frying, from sticking to the pan.

While the pan is heating, put the eggs and the Half and Half in the bowl, add a couple of good shakes of cinnamon.

Mix well with a whisk or a fork.

Put a slice of bread in the egg mixture, let it soak a little.  Turn the bread over, using the fork, and let the other side soak a little.

Put the egg soaked bread in the oil and cook a minute or two until brown.

Turn it over and brown the other side.

Remove from pan and repeat with more slices of bread until you run out of egg mixture.  Usually 2 eggs will coat 4 slices of bread.

Serve with a pat of butter and syrup, or powdered sugar, or whatever you want.  Enjoy!
