Frankencopter(rubber Band Plane Experiment)
i resently been to maker school and i made two major rubber band flying machines there: a rubber band helicopter and a rubber band plane. the next day, i got the ingenious(or maybe really stupid)idea to make a rubber band half-plane half-helicopter thing. sooo....let's start the build!
Supplies
you will need:
academy rubber band glider
rubber band helicopter(any kind)
tape
glue gun
rubber bands
cutting tools
2=1
time for some upgrades. first. let's build the academy glider(blue)BUT ONLY the stabilizer, lower stick and the wing holder(without wings). afther that, connect the helicopter part(orange)to the upper stick hold. this gives the plane more powerful engines. hold the two sticks together with some cut chopsticks and rubber bands.
New Wings & Finishing
now for the wings. fold a slice of A4 paper and leave a small amount of sqare at the bottom(this gives it the appearence if plane wings). tape it, and glue some chopsticks on it to give it more toughness. glue the new wings to the wing hold.
our plane is finished!
Test
it kinda worked but not very well...the helicopter flight took off like a VTOL and it go high enough, and the plane? well, it spun in circles while in flight. i think it need a few more adjustments sooo....that's all. hope you guys liked it and i'll see you next time.
