Frame From Old Canvas
I tried to make some melted crayon art and it turned out terrible. Everytime I looked at it, it hurt ;D
I decided to disassemble "the artpiece" to reuse the crayons and recycle the canvas. Once I did that I realized the wood looked quite beautiful and that with some sanding it could look really great. It was a cheap canvas and so the quality of the wood wasn't good, but after a few hours it became the perfect frame for one of my drawings.

Disassembling
We first need to separate the canvas from the wood frame. Use a knife to carefully remove the staples without damaging much the wood.
Shaping
Each canvas has a different shape. In my case I decided to round the borders instead of just sanding the piece. For that I separated the four pieces of the frame and used a knife to remove the surplus wood. After that, I took a #60 grit sandpaper to shape it with better detail (if you are a good wood carver you won't need it). Finally use a #150 grit sandpaper to make it smooth to the touch.
Colour
Once it had the shape I wanted I thought of painting it, but I liked the grain of the wood so I thought it would look great dyed, varnished or oil finished. I finally used olive oil. It doesn't dye much the wood but makes it very smooth. Then, let it dry and sand it with #320 grit sandpaper.
Stick It
Last thing left to do is to stick it. The glue I used is white No more nails (which is my favourite).
