Fourth of July Cake
You guys are going to love this cake. I made it for the July 4th party and everybody loved it!
I think this cake rocks!
Ingredients:
(For the cake)
* 1 1/4 stick unsalted butter
* 1 1/2 cup sugar
* 3 eggs
* 1/2 cup sour cream
* 1 tsb vanilla extract
* 1 1/2 cups flour
* 2 tbps corn starch
* 1 tbsp baking powder
(for the frosting)
* 250 g cream cheese
* 1 1/2 stick unsalted butter
* 2 cups powdered sugar
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
(to decorate)
Raspberry and Blueberry
Step 1: Make the Cake
In you electric mixer mix together butter and sugar till soft and fluffy
Add 3 eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition
Dump into the bowl the sour cream and combine
Prepare in a separate bowl flour, corn starch, baking powder and vanilla extract and slowly add it into the mixing bowl.
MIx just a until well combined. Do not overmixed!
With PAM oil spray a large cake pan.
Pour in the mixture and spread it evenly.
Bake for about 25 min at 180 C
Add 3 eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition
Dump into the bowl the sour cream and combine

Step 2: Make the Frosting
With your electric mixture cream butter and cream cheese.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract
Mix until well combined scraping the sides during the mixing.

Step 3: Decorate
Now pour 1/4 of the frosting on your cake and using a spatula spread it evenly
With a toothpick mark off the area for the stars.
Pour some of the frosting in a pastry bag and start by squeezing two lines of frosting at the bottom of the cake going up till you reach the top. Leave 1.5 cm of space between each 2 lines.
In the empty spaces line up some raspberry. So it is 2 lines of frosting, 2 lines of raspberry, 2 lines of frosting, 2 lines of raspberry and so on.
Fill the square in the corner with the Blueberry. Don’t bother cause you won’t be able to fit 50 on there.
Squeeze some little dull-ups on the blueberry to represent the stars.
And your Fourth of July cake is done and you guys are ready to celebrate!
