Today we remove the factory roof rack on the Ford Explorer this is a 2016, but the process would be similar on other years.

This gives it a sporty look and a tougher look than the soccer Mom look!
Now it has a Mad Max look to it.
Used 1" auto trim in black you could use chrome or carbon fiber if you want or paint to match your color!
This project takes 1 to 2 hours plus a 24 hour don't get it wet.
Remove the Roof Rack
Use the pry tools and remove the cover
Clean Roof
Clean Roof and polish any marks from the paint
Plug Screw Holes
RTV and set screws
Add Weather Stripping
Insert the new molding
Blend Front Edges
Clamp and seal the front edges
Stand Back and Enjoy
Done in 24 hours (Let the sealer dry)
