Foldable Falcon Wings From Cardboard

The falcon and winter soldier episodes are soo cool to watch, Many say it because of falcon wings in action!

In this instructable we are going to have a look on how to make falcon wings which is foldable, i would highly recommend to try this at home as its made from materials available at home

Sheet of paper

Thick cardboard from old notebook, Corrugated cardboard wont work for this project

Rubber band

Toothpick

Strips of cardboard

Super glue

Scissor and paper glue

Free scalable templates of wings and body for this project Check here

After you get the template trace it using measurements given or print it on sheet of paper

Cut the designs using scissor and paste it on thick piece of cardboard that is recycled from old notebook binds

To make holder i use toothpicks onto which strips of cardboard are rolled, To strengthen the tip i use a drop of super glue, you will require nine of these holders for this project

Holder are pinned to frame later to which wings will be added these help in movement/swing of wings

As previously mentioned all parts are cut followed by design of templates

Note: if you want to make exact same project follow exact same measurements as stated

I have given exact same spots where hole needs to be punched and holders need to be added for swinging of wings, so if you are struck anywhere you can check out video which is included along with template design

To add flexibility option i used rubber bands which when pulled creates some tension and stores some energy, When released energy will be used to make our wings unfold at press of button!

To limit movement of second half wings i used piece of thread to limit its movements

To finish this falcon wings i used colored pens which took me some time to finish, fabric paint works best

Moment of truth! it took me 2 days to find out good working mechanism for folding and unfolding by various trial and errors
