The first step is cutting the foam board into 2” strips.

Then cut those strips to the following measurements.

2x 19", 2x 20", 2x 22", 1x 26", 2x 6", 4x 24" with a 2" x 1/2" notch starting at 12" (see picture for diagram)

Cut the dowel to 20”

Assembling the Structure

After you have all of the pieces cut you can begin on the assembly.

Make sure that the hot glue gun is plugged in and warming up and that you have your rubber bands handy.

  1. Take 2 of the 24" stips (the ones with the notches) and line them up so that the notches like up. Glue them together and then wrap rubber bands around them to secure them together.
  2. Repeat this with the other two 24" strips.

Assembling the Structure - Part 2

  1. Take the two 19" strips and glue them into the holes of the other strips. (see picture for diagram)

  1. Take both of the pieces you have assembled and attach the 22" peace to the front of it with hot glue and then rubber bands to reinforce. (see pictures for diagram)

Assembling the Structure - Part 4

  1. Take two pieces you have assemble and set them rufly 18" appart. then take the two 20" strips and attache one over the top of the two 19" pieces and and one one the bottom pieces touching the 22" pieces.

Assembling the Structure - Part 5

Screen Shot 2021-03-29 at 12.22.35 PM.png

  1. Take the 20" dowel and shove it through the two 19" strips toward the bottom. The foam should be soft enough so that it should just make a whole but if it doesn't you can cut one with the serrated knife. Its okay if its not that snug, it can wiggle a little.
  2. Once the holes are made you can remove the dowel.

Assembling the Structure - Part 6

  1. now take the 26" long strip and make a dowel size hole 1" from the bottom. make the hole through the 1" side of the strip, so that when the strip is on the dowel the most surface area is touching the dowel. (see picture for diagram)
  2. Once you have a hole make a 4" cut out on 1" from the top of the strip, again doinging it so you are carving into the 1" side.

  1. Take the two 6" stripes and carve a semi circles into each (see pictures for diagram), 1" from the top and bottom.

  1. Now glue the two 6" strips to either side of the top of the 26" strip and secure with rubber bands.

  1. Slide the dowle through one side of the structure, put the arm one, then slide it through the other side.
  2. Take the 3 large rubber bands and tie them together.
  3. Wrap one side on the 22" strip, bring it around the back of the arm and then secure it on the other 22" strip.
