Foam Board Mandalorian Blaster
I am currently working on a suit of mandalorian armor and had the challenge of how to make a blaster, here is how I made one.
Supplies
-1 sheet of foam board (half a sheet works too)
-A craft knife (a variety of blades is helpful)
-Hot glue gun
-Hot glue
-Silver spray paint
-Black spray paint
-Printer paper

Cutting Out the Pieces
Start by taking the template image from above and printing it off on 8 1/2" by 11" paper of letter size. Cut out the pieces of the template and trace them on to your foam board the body five times, the tip three times, and the handle piece and shroud once. After you trace out your pieces cut the out and split the handle piece and shroud in half doun the middle of the foam (a longer blade helps with this).
Putting It All Together
Take the five body pieces and glue them together. After you have done that take the handle pieces and the shrouds and glue them on the sides as shown in picture. You can even up the sides by using your craft knife; a hot wire cutter will work better but I am not allowed to use one. Then take your paper and cut it into two inch wide strips and glue them onto the edges. It will be a bit wide but you can trim of the edges once it is on. Cut a half inch by one inch strip of foam board and glue it where the trigger would be, it is shown in the pictures above. Then take your tip pieces and glue them together sandwiched on top of each other . Then beval the side edges of the tip and wrap the sides in paper. Now on to painting.
Painting and Finishing Steps
Now it is time to paint your blaster. Go to a well ventalated area and paint your pieces. You should paint the main body of your blaster black. Then paint the rest of the pieces silver. Only the paper side should be painted on the handle pieces and shrouds while all of the tip should be painted. After all the pieces are dry glue the handle pieces, the shrouds and the tip on the gun. Now your done!
Have Fun!
Who knows what galactic adventure you might go on with your blaster gun!
