This is a great fly fishing hook, no lathe required!!

Materials

You will need 1 fishing hook, a thin string, a thicker melt able string, some hair rubber bands(or small rubber bands), little beads(optional), and a lighter.

Starting

It's not in the picture but if you have a small bead that fits past the barb but not past the loop you can put that in the front then follow the rest of the steps:) to start you put the end of the rope going along with the hook and start wrapping.

Wrapping

Wrap as far as you want to then start wrapping back up. This helps make it thicker and makes it so you don't have to use two rubber bands.

Cutting

When you finish wrapping make sure to put one finger over the end of the string so it doesn't come undone. Cut it so you have a little extra string at the end.

Rubber Bands

Put the rubber band on and twist is over the hook until it's tight. You can stop here if you don't want the wings on.

Making Wings

Get the melt able string now and fluff out the end. Cut it long enough to melt the end but not too long.

Putting Wings On

Hold the hook so it's ready to put the wings on. You will want to put the wings just behind the rubber band so it doesn't melt the rubber band. Melt the end of the fluffed string then put it on the hook.

Now the hook is done good luck and catch lots of fish! If you have any improvements feel free to tell me.

My uncle recently told me these flies will work good for salmon so go ahead and try it out!
