Flower Bouquet in a Wooden Frame Wall Art DIY
A little piece of decoration to put around the house. Made of dried flowers and wooden sticks which gives it a touch of nature.
Supplies
- Flowers (Dried flowers are best as they wont rot so it'll last much longer)
- Any type of Wooden Sticks (I used skewers)
- Hot Glue Gun
- String
- Scissors
***Optional****
- Rubber-bands
Getting the Skewer Ready
If you decide to use a skewer, or that's all you have around your house like me, you will need to go through this step.
- Go to the pointed side of the skewer and cut it off
- Keep cutting until you have at least 8 skewers done, you may need to get more later
Putting Together the Frame
- Put two sticks side by side, with a gap in the middle
- Stack two on top of those two with a bit left on the corners for the string/rubber bands as shown in Figure A
- Stack one more layer on top as shown in Figure B
- Wrap string or rubber-bands around the corners of the frame (You may need someone to help or use tape for this step) As shown in Figure C
- After these steps there should be a gap between two sticks on all sides as shown in Figure D
- Now it's time to finish the frame
- Cut the sticks into sizes that will fit into a corner of the frame from small to large and fit them on the front and back with hot glue. Make sure there is a space in between the two sides for flowers. As shown in Figure E
Flowers and String
You will need the flowers of your choice to be able to fit into the gap in-between the frame from the last step
- Put the ones you want in the background first then the other ones in the front (If you'd like you can cut off the stem of a flower and hot glue it onto the very front, on the other flower stems if they'll hold, or on the frame)
- Tie a piece of string on the top of the frame by double knotting then tie off the end so you can hang it anywhere you like.
