Floating Silk Daisies for Centerpieces

We used silk flowers for our bouquets and for all of our decorations.

We were going to use silk daisies to float in a bowl for our centerpieces. We tested them out at home a day before the wedding, and the daisies immediately sunk to the bottom! In a mass panic, my husband and I tried to come up with a solution.

We came up with a way to keep them floating, as getting a florist last minute would be a very expensive nightmare!

- Silk/Fabric Flowers that would look good floating as a centerpiece (Buying them in bouquets is usually cheapest)
- 1.5" Styrofoam Balls (1 Styrofoam Ball makes about 3 flower floaters)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors

Cut your Styrofoam balls into sections with your scissors. You can't really mess this up, so that's all that's said for this step.

You should get 2-4 styrofoam "coins" or "discs" from 1 ball. 

Using your scissors, cut off the flowers from their stems, leaving about 1/4" of the stem on the flower so there's something to stick into the Styrofoam.

Hot glue around the nub of the flower and jab it into the Styrofoam. Within seconds, you're finished!

The Styrofoam will keep the flower afloat, even if the petals get wet.
