How to Buff Out a Scratched Lense on an Insta 360 Go

So my favorite little action cam, the Insta 360 Go got a scratch and after a couple days of research I finally was ready to try to buff out the scratch.

Tools and Supplies

To fix a scratched Insta 360 Go we need masking/painters tape and a glass polish.

Tools:

  • Router/Dremel
  • Painters Tape
  • Glass Polish
  • Router Buffing Tip

Protect the Insta

Begin by wrapping the Insta's body in tape. This will prevent the buff from scratching the Insta itself. Try to get the tape as close to the lenses edge as possible.

Start buffing the Insta. I mixed a bit of buff powder with water and started with a very watery solution before slowly making it stronger by adding more paste. I did this so I could get comfortable with the router before staring with a stronger solution. The more watery the solution the less impact it has. Work in even passes.

Test It Out

Unwrap and wash off the insta. Give it a test drive to see if its made a difference. I did about 3 passes over a week till I was happy with the scratch being gone.
