Fixing a Record Player

Now everyone is used to play music On their phones, mp3, or whatever.
However the other day I came up finding my grandma record player, to be honest the record player was abandoned, not used in decades. I hoped it would work with a vinyl I have found right before.
BUT IT DID NOT WORK!!
So I got to work, I found out this was a very common problem with the old record players, and it is really really easy to solve.
Let me explain you how to.
PROBLEM

The problem was that when I put the tone arm on the vinyl the turnable won't rotate (no move, no music).
You can watch the problem more graphically in the video I have uploaded.
SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM???

After opening the record player I discovered the real problem.
What I called A in the picture needed to be pulled of by something in the arrow direction in order to move the motor.
A constant force was needed to be applied, a force like a spring.
Supplies

To fix the record play you will need a :
- A broken record player (obviously ...)
- An empty pen (What we really need is the spring inside)
- Scissors
- Superglue
- A hard surface like the cover of a notebook, cardboard,...
Get the Spring Out of the Pen

As is shown on the video, get out the tip of the pen, and take out the spring.
Making the Spring Box: PART 1

In the notebook (do not throw it ) draw 5 rectangles, they must have more or less 3mm more of high than the spring, and have to have 2 mm more of length & width (the spring is a cylinder) than the spring.
And cut them.
Making the Spring Box: PART 2

Stick the faces to make a box (without the lid).
As you can see I had one exceed face, do not worry.
The one left, stick it to another face, we want the spring to have a minimum high.
MAKING THE SPRING BOX: PART 3

Again with the notebook draw a square (5x5mm). cut it and stick it to the spring as shown in the pictures.
MAKING THE STRING BOX : PART 4

Finally, stick the lid to the box with the spring.
Stick the String Box

What we name A won't move because it has the stick in front, but when the stick move the spring will make the force it need to make the motor works.
Put on the Turntable

Remember the record player works with rubber to transmit the movement, so take a tweezers or something similar to put the Turntableagain.
MAKE SURE IT WORKS

It works perfectly!!!!
I wish you have enjoyed reading it the same I enjoyed fixing my record player.
I hope this post has helped you and please do not doubt to ask me any doubt you have.
