Fix Your Broken Eyeglasses

Hi All,
Anyone with eyeglasses would understand the pain when a new pair of eyeglasses break... it is very common and unfortunately it is equally expensive to repair the broken part compared to buying a new one...
In this instructable, I will share how I fixed an eyeglass using 3d printer
Understanding What Needs to Be Fixed

- My son kept on fidgeting with his eyeglasses till the point that I could not use super glue to fix it, anymore...
- The hinge was destroyed and there was no way I could replace the hinge...
- I have seen some experts printing the whole frame, but I wanted to just make a hinge that fits the existing frame that would solve my problem for now...
Remove Unwanted Parts

- Before we start designing, we need measurements for each part.
- To do that, we will remove any unwanted part and measure the dimensions
Designing in Tinkercad

- I used tinkercad to design the hinge
- One side a single cube with a hole of 8mm HT and 4 mm width
- STL file on thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4770354
- 3d Print at 0.2mm
Done

- Once the 3d printing is done
- Fix the eye fame
- We have to adjust the length of the temples / arms
- Bases on issues, adjust the 3d model and re-print. till you get the final perfect hinge
