These soldering guns they are great but they can overheat.

The label says "1 minute usage time" and "4 minutes for cooling".

So if you want to put a normal computer fan go ahead, very easy to do, and you can use masking tape and be done in 4 minutes.

It was not enough for me, so I put a high speed fan for extreme cooling. I used a brushless motor and printed a fan on the 3d printer, and printed a case, materials used below:

  • 12V power adapter
  • Servo Tester
  • 10-20A ESC
  • Power the world motor

The links will be in the last step when you are ready to get started.

The fan and case are drawn, and then 3d printed. I was not sure if it would work or if it would spin and explode, but it works beautifully and I did not have to do any balancing, only the normal clean it up after the print.

So Build Something

Now that this has more cooling you can work on projects for that much longer.

The links to the parts list is right here.

At the bottom of the list you can get ALL the parts at once, in a kit, while simultaneously supporting me on the next kit design.

I am trying to build more useful things and if you have anything to request, please do!
