Do you have a nasty crack in a wood platform? A chip in your floor? Let your wood problems be solved with this easy project! You can fix any wood crack with a 3D pen and wood filament. Wood filament is made with real wood, and it can even be sanded and painted!

Supplies

You will need:
-A 3D pen
-Wood filament (it comes in various colors, so get the one that is closest to the color of the wood you are trying to fix)
-Sandpaper (or a file if you don’t have sandpaper)
-Wood stain or paint (if you want to stain or paint the fixed wood)

Prep Your Pen

First of all, you’ll want to prep your 3D pen. Plug it in so that your 3D pen can reach the wood crack, and set your 3D pen to the ABS setting (or wood setting if you have it). Insert your wood filament and run your 3D pen until the wood filament comes out the other end.

Fill in Your Crack

Next, start filling in the wood crack. If your crack is deep, you can either fill the whole crack or move the 3D pen up and down in the crack to fill the face of the crack. Keep filling the crack until it is all filled, and add another layer on top of the crack because you will sand it down later.

Sand and Paint

You’re almost done! Take out your sandpaper (or file if you don’t have sandpaper) and sand down the filled-in crack until it is at the same level as the original wood surface. If you wish, you can stain or paint the crack as well. I hope you enjoyed this project!
