Fix a Pair of Eye Glasses

My hubby is shy so I'm modeling the glasses. He left them where the kids could get them smh. Yea I know but I chose to help him any way. What can I say I'm a sucker for cuties, lol. Any who, they are crooked on my face on purpose I just thought the pick was quirky :)
The down side to this fix is that you can't close the arm anymore so at least you won't break them again by sitting on them in your back pocket so it's a when when heh.....

What You'll Need

18 gauge scrap wire ( that's what I had but a bit thinner or thicker could work too)

Nail polish

Wire cutters

Thread

Don't forget the broken glasses

The Solution

These glasses broke where the arm bends and the whole that holds the screw was also broken which is why I had to rack my brain for a solution, lol.

I cut the wire with the cutters about a inch or more so that it matched the size of the area I was fixing.

The Timely Part

Once you have the correct length of wire and you've lined it up with the arm so that it will no longer bend, start winding the thread back and forth the whole length of the wire. This will take some time. Watch a tv show while you do it and don't forget patience ( breath ahhhh). No really it's not that bad but you don't want to skimp on this part. I wound until I couldn't see the wire any more. You will know when to stop because the arm won't feel loose or hang when your not holding it in place...... Happy winding :)

When your done bring a loop of thread on one side and the end of the thread on the other side long enough so that you can tie a knot. Tie and tie again 2 or 3 times. Cut the thread ends close with scissors. ( darn no pic of scissors, all well you know what they look like)

Coat

Once your done with the winding, take nail polish (why nail polish you ask, because it's all I had and once I used it the thickness improved the over all strength) and saturate the whole area of thread. Put more then one coat. I opted for a niter all color because didn't like my "purple kisses" nail polish (party pooper) but it might be cool to paint that area of both arms with a funky color.

So that's it!!! All done, let it dry for a while and you good to go. Thanks for checking it out, laters.
