Fishing Pole Cat Teaser Toy

Go fishing for cats with this simple and quick teaser toy! All you need is some ribbon, felt, hot glue, and a pole and you have hours of entertainment for you and your feline!

Felt

Ribbon (5-6 feet)

Hot Glue

Hot Glue Gun

Dowel or Pole

Scissors

I did a quick sketch of a fish on a small folded piece of felt, then cut out the fish so I had two matching sides. I made two fish, each fish is about three inches high.

Cut about a foot off of your ribbon and set aside, use the remaining 4-5 feet on your pole. Glue over one edge of your longer piece of ribbon to the top of your pole, then glue and wrap over the end to secure.

Glue the other end of your long ribbon to the inside of one of your fish, then glue the second side of your fish on top. For the second fish, glue one side of your shorter ribbon inside then glue the second half on top. With the other end, glue about 2-3 inches worth of the ribbon above your first fish so you have two fish hanging off the end of your pole (3rd image).

If you have a very feisty feline, you may want to sew a few stitches to add extra security to where your ribbon and fish are glued. You can also embroider your fish to decorate them, but my cat wanted to play too bad so I ended it with just the felt. Now you can go fishing for cats!
