How to use old camera parts to start a fire.

Step 1 Find a Lens Source and Remove.

First we need to remove the magnifying lens. This is an old slide viewer that was broken on the back making it a perfect unit to take a part. You will want to pry the 2 halves apart using a hammer or screw driver. Be careful not to hit the lens.

Step 2, Lens and Fire

Now that the parts are all loose remove the lens and discard the rest of the un wanted parts. To make fire go in the direct sun and focus the lens until you have small focused dot of sun. This will now burn paper or kindling. Perfect for a boy scouts survival kit which is what we did this for.
