I made a recipe holder that has a wood base with a slot opening to have a piece of an acrylic sheet that acts as a stand to hold up a recipe card or a phone that is holding a recipe. It also has an LED light strip in the slot that will light up the acrylic to show a design that is connected to the circuit playground and has a code to make different light formations.
Supplies
- Wood
- Acrylic Sheet
- LED Light Strip
- Wire
- Circuit Playground
- Alligator Clips
- Cardboard(for prototype #2)
- Duck Tape(for prototype #2)
Blueprint

This is my original blueprint that I created of my project. I wanted a simple project that I knew I could do and that I would also do well.
Prototype #1

This is the first prototype I made out of Playdoh. It is a very basic model of what I am wanting to make.
Prototype #2

This is the cardboard prototype I created. I labeled the different pieces as what they will be once it is all put together.
Beginning Stages of Construction

This is the constructed project, I have a hole that I drilled into the side of it for my LED light strip to feed itself through to go under the acrylic. My next step is to create a design to laser cut onto the acrylic.
Code

Here is where I will upload my code for my circuit playground.
Other Ideas
This project can be customized in many different ways. Instead of using an acrylic sheet, you could use a sheet of metal. You can also put any design you want on the acrylic to make it more personalized.
Common Problems
I haven't really had anything go wrong yet on this project, but coding is somewhat difficult for me so I am sure I will run into some problems with that.
