Figs and Berries Candy Rolls and Strings
I was motivated by Instructables's the Contest Purple for giving bonus points for those who incorporate figs into their project. I immediately checked out what is the fuzz about figs. Sweet, rich in phyto-nutrients, anti-oxidants and vitamins, I'm in! I tried making a few things with figs and decided to share this sweet one with everyone.
To try this on you own, you'll need:
1/3 Cup frozen black berries, washed
1/3 Cup frozen raspberries, washed
2 Strawberries, small to medium, washed, stem removed
3 Figs, sliced thin
1 Banana, peeled
Blender
Baking pan or sheet
Non-stick parchment paper
Brush
Kitchen sissors
Frozen blackberries and raspberries can be found in your local grocery store in frozen fruits section. Figs can be found in Good Harvest Market near you or nuts.com.

Puree
Place fruits into blender in the order of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and banana. Reserve slices of figs for later use as marble toppings.
Pulse a few times, then process at high-smoothie setting.

Prepare to Bake
Line 13 inch by 9 inch baking sheet with non-stick parchment paper. To be further sure, I brushed the paper surface with a slightly oily brush.
Clip the paper to the edges of the sheet if it doesn't seem to stay.
Transfer fruits puree into above lined and greased baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it in a thin consistent layer. The thiner the better is my experience. Depending on the size of strawberries, banana and dried fruits, and the baking sheet or pan you have, if spreading to a whole sheet seems too thin, use fraction of the sheet; if too thick, skim off some puree and just eat it or use it to make a cup of smoothie for you, cooking is hard work:-). Take care of yourself.
Top the reserved fig slices on top. Press the slices slightly into the puree layer.

Bake
Bake at your oven's lowest temperature, 140 F is recommended. The lowest of mine is 170 F. It takes about 3-7 hours for it to set, depending on the thickness. Mine took 3 hours. Waiting for it to set is probably the hardest part of this recipe. The good thing is you don't need to do anything with it. I actually sat by my computer and started this instructables since the Contest Purple is closing soon and I so want to enter it.
When done, it's soft and leathery, can be lifted as a whole sheet, with the edges maybe drier than the middle.
Flip it upside down on a board if you want to roll the marble toppings outside. Roll it up. Wrap in plastic wrap to keep it from drying out if you are not going to cut and serve right away.

Serve
Cut it into smaller rolls, cut it into flower, heart shapes, and use them as food decorations, or strings. take some for yourself, leave the rest on table and tell your husband and children to help themselves and you go shopping.
