Festive Christmas Grinch Drink

This easy Christmas Grinch drink is a festive Moscow Mule cocktail made with fresh lime, apple whiskey, and a generous hit of refreshing ginger beer to make moods merry all around…

1. 2 oz Apple Whiskey - such as Crown Royal apple whiskey or Jack Daniels Tennessee apple
2. ½ oz Apple Liqueur
3. ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice
4. ¼ oz Simple Syrup
5. 1 bottle Ginger Beer - such as Fever Tree ginger beer – for topping off
6. Sliced Lime Wheels - for garnish
7. Fresh or Frozen Cranberries - for garnish – alternatively, you can garnish with sliced apples
8. 1 drop Natural Green Food Coloring
9. Cocktail Shaker
10. Jigger
11. Moscow Mule Mug
12. Festive Paper Straws

1. To make this fun Christmas cocktail, start by putting your Moscow Mule cup (or cocktail glass) in the freezer to give it a nice frosty chill before serving.
2. You can use copper mugs or even metal julep cups. Given the festive green color of this Mr. Grinch cocktail, I chose to use glass cups to show off the fun colorful Christmas drinks.
3. In a cocktail shaker with a lid, begin by splashing in the freshly squeezed lime juice and green apple liqueur.
4. Next, to the same cocktail shaker, splash in the apple whiskey and the simple syrup. To keep from adding too much dye, I like to squeeze one single drop of the food coloring into my jigger, which I use to measure all liquids for the cocktail.
5. To do this, I’ll pour the whiskey into my jigger (in this case 1 and 1/2 oz) and then top off with a drop of green food coloring. Splash this mixture into the cocktail shaker using your jigger and fill the rest of the way with fresh ice. This keeps everything neat, consistent, and evenly colored.
6. Cover your cocktail shaker with its own tight-fitting lid and shake well until all ingredients are cold and evenly combined.
7. Pour your Christmas drink with crown apple whiskey into your cups and top off the rest of the way with chilled ginger beer.
8. I highly recommend Fever-Tree ginger beer because it is super vibrant, fresh-tasting, flavorful, and refreshing.
9. Garnish with fresh lime wheels and skewered cranberries. Serve very cold. Serve immediately.
