Fence Post Puller
Last summer I had to remove old fence posts in my garden. It's a hard job to remove them without special tools. But I came up with something that eases it considderably. I want to share this with you via this little instructable because I think that there are more people who are facing the same problem I did.
The Procedure
It's really simple:
- take a firm vice;
- clamp the vice sturdy on the post on such a height that your car jack, in his lowest position, fits underneath him;
- raise the vice (and with him the pole) up with the jack until the jack has reached his highest point;
If necessary, repeat step 2 and 3 until the pole is loose enough to lift him out of the ground.
If the surrounding ground is too soft you can place a peace of wood under the jack's front wheels in order to create a larger surface area to prevent the jack to go in the opposite direction (into the ground) and loose effectivity.
With this procedure I have pulled out 15 fence post's with little effort.
