Faraday Tube

IMG_0053.JPG
Have you ever been in the situation where you just stole a small vial of top secret green goo from a biohazardous  nuclear lab in the midst of WW III, and ninjas are chasing you to get it?  Then, you remember your faraday tube in your pocket, you pull it out, pour your green goo in it ,jack a jet ski and ride off into the sunset. Well, this has never happened to me but it might happen to you sometime, so build this and you'll always be prepared. And please vote for me in the great outdoors contest.

Tools and Materials

First, the materials you'll need are: 1/2 inch PVC, 2 - 1/2" PVC end caps, 1 eye bolt, PVC glue, and silver duct tape. For tools, you'll need a drill, a saw, and a file for cleaning up rough cuts.

Cutting, Gluing, Drilling

First, cut the 1/2 inch PVC pipe  to the length you want and file down any rough spots. Then, glue on one end cap to one end of your pipe ,and drill a hole in the top of the end cap that isn't glued to the pipe.

Eye Bolt Insertion

Now take the cap with a hole in the top and insert the eye bolt into the hole and tighten it.

Duct Tape Liner

This step is optional and it can be tricky to do. First, you take the silver duct tape and measure it, cutting it to be the same length of your PVC pipe casing. Then, with the tape, you just cut ,make a tube out of the tape, and put it in then PVC pipe for a liner.

Finished Product

Now you're finished.  Put whatever you want in your Faraday Tube.  Put the cap on, and you can clip a caribiner to the top and then clip it to your pants, backpack, ect., or just put it in your pocket so if ninjas start chasing you for the green goo you just stole, you'll be ready.
