In toady's story, we heard about a legendary time when the sky was close enough to touch. That's definitely not the case in our world now, so let's make some sky friends that you CAN touch.

Supplies

-2 paper plates

-markers, colored pencils, or crayons

-scissors

-construction paper

-glue

Make the Sun.

Take one of the paper plates, and color the whole thing like it's the sun. I made mine orange and yellow. Once you're happy with how you've colored it, take your scissors and cut around the plate in a zig zag pattern to be the sun's rays.

Make the Moon.

Take the second paper plate, and cut it in half right down the middle. Set one half aside.

Draw the wavy line of a profiled face on the plate, and cut it away. It won't look exactly like mine, because no two sky friends are the same! You can color you moon once it's all cut out. Mine is blue! What color is your moon?

Make Your Cloud.

Grab your construction paper, and cut some short strips of a variety of colors. My strips were about half an inch wide and three inches long, but your strips can be any size, really. I chose to make mine like a rainbow, but you could make yours all blue like rain, or any color you like!

Take the last half of your plate, and flip it over. Draw a line of glue on the bottom, and stick all of your paper strips to it. Let the glue dry. Flip it over. Now you have a cloud!

Enjoy Your Sky Friends!

You can stick them up on your wall or hang them from the ceiling with some string.
