Cut off the upper and lower parts to make a tube.

Create the Slits and Hem

For the left arm warmer, cut a slit on the left side. For the right arm warmer, cut a slit on the right side.

Make a 2" slit using your scissors. This will allow the wearer to adjust the snugness around the wrist area later with the fastenings.

Fold the hems around 0.25" and stitch the hems for a cleaner look and to improve durability.

Decorate

You can design your fairy-themed arm warmers however you want! For my design, I used an assortment of large artificial leaves, small artificial leaves, decorative flowers, and sequins.

Stitch three large leaves together.

Stitch a flower and a small leaf together.

Stitch one large leaf, one small leaf, and one flower together.

Using fabric glue, add sequins to the center of each flower.

Stitch the decorations onto the body of the arm warmer.

Add Straps

Crochet the straps! I used a base chain of 20, and I did a treble stitch for 4 layers.

After that, use the first 6 of the chain and continue making layers (still using a treble stitch).

Taper the strap until the length is around 4.5"

Fastenings

Using a crochet hook, make the thread/yarn go in a criss-cross manner like shoelaces. Use the crochet hook to pull the thread/yarn through the sock fabric without having to cut any holes. Start from below the slit and work your way up. Don't forget to put the threads on each of the sides of the slit.

Done!
