HELLO AND WELCOME BACK !!

So first things first don't try this at home as fiddling with mains voltage is quite dangerous . Do replicate it on your own risk !!! WARNING 220V Have you ever teased your friend with a potential shock that is not fatal but quite painful . So in this video I will demonstrate your the secret of shocking your friend ( warning don't try this on your girlfriend as that could cause even more potential shock ) means building this circuit and understanding flash capacitors . So lets get started !!!!!

Supplies

FLASH CAPACITOR ( SALVAGED FROM OLD FUJI CAMERA)

6A 250V PLUG

THICK ELECTRICAL WIRES

FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIER

First of all I dumped every electrolytic capacitor I had in my collection to see whether we can use any of it here

After fishing for a while I settled on a 330uF /63V capacitor . Now lets see how much charge it can accumulate and how much energy it can store . After a bit of calculation we can see that it can store a energy of about 0.65J which is quite less but lets test it on breadboard and see is it efficient enough to give a potential shock . In this case we have to use a transformer to step down the voltage from 220V mains to 50 or maybe 60V not exceeding the capacitor voltage and bridge rectifier . As you can see in the video that the shock is quite potential but not that much so lets try an 1000uf capacitor to see if it can be ever potential than this !!!!!

THE FLASH CAPACITOR

BUT USING LESS VOLTAGE CAPACITORS WILL INCLUDE A STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER BUT THAT MIGHT BECOME BULKY AND WE CAN'T CARRY IT TO DIFFRENT PLACES TO SHOCK SOMEONE .

SO INSTEAD I DROPPED THE IDEA OF USING A NORMAL ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR INSTEAD USED A FLASH CAPACITOR !! IT IS RATED FOR 280V AND IS 200UF SO ITS PERFECT MATCH !!

CIRCUIT EXPLANATION

The circuit is quite easy to understand and does not involve any rocket science . The two AC terminals of full bridge rectifier is connected to the 220v supply via a plug and the + terminal of cap to + of dc in FBR and vice versa

ADVANTAGES OF USING a FLASH CAPACITOR

So the first advantage of using a flash capacitor is that it can store massive amount of energy around 10J

Second is that 220V is fully applied to flash capacitor via a bridge rectifier .(no need of bulky transformer )

Third it is portable and can be taken anywhere and plugged anywhere and shock anyone But don't do this if you are not trained and try not to replicate it just understand the working of Flash capacitor by this shocker !!!!!
