We will share data from our 3D printed autonomous MEGA sumo robot.

This robot participated in Robochallenge2023.

This robot is still unfinished. The data we will share this time is still an unfinished prototype. So it would be difficult to assemble a robot using this data. Although there are such problems, I would like to share the unfinished data with you. Because even unfinished data can give you inspiration. It will still take a long time for me to complete this robot. In that case, it would be better to work with you to develop more robots at the same time. We hope that many 3D printed MEGA sumo robots will be created based on this data.

Thank you.

Supplies

Please be sure to check this project in advance.

Only new elements are described below.

Please note that this robot has some issues left unresolved.

My Robot Problem Part 1

Robochallenge 2023 friendly match 1

Due to the interference between the sensors of the enemy robot and my robot, my robot will meander when approaching the enemy robot.

It seems that my robot needs to change the placement or type of sensor on the front.

My Robot Problem Part 2

Robochallenge 2023 Third place match

When my robot pushes the enemy robot, the enemy robot passes over my robot.

It seems that my robot needs improvement in its front shape.

  1. Create STL data from 3D data.
  2. Print the parts.
  3. Please refer to the figure for the molding direction of the 3D print parts.

Sand the surface of the magnet that will be attached with sandpaper.

Join it to the body with super glue.

This magnet has strong magnetic force, so please handle it with care.

Use a taper reamer to adjust the gear hole size to match the outer diameter of the bearing.

Glue the rim and tire with super glue beforehand.

Press the bearing into the hole in the rim.

Then screw the gear and wheel.

Using a cutting wheel, make a notch in the number 5 blade. Please refer to the 3D data for cut dimensions.

Use double-sided tape to combine the blade with the notch and the blade screwed onto the main body.
