Theory and Life
Most of my life my eyes are looking at the same distance on a book or tablet screen. The eye muscles become accustomed over the years to focus on the same distance and I can not see objects farther away or closer. I have seen only the first 4 lines on the an eye examination Snellen chart. Doctors said that the eyes muscles atrophied ...
The Method of My Father
There are many devices for training the eyes, but how many minutes a day you are willing to spend on them? Can you force yourself to do exercises for the eyes every day, month after month?
My father consulted with doctors and found a way to combine business with pleasure. Now I can train for several hours a day and I did not too lazy to do it. I just read some interesting books, newspapers, important information or news on a tablet. And you know what the most important thing? In just one month of my eyesight has improved and now I see the first 8 lines in Snellen Eye Chart!
Materials Used:
1. board or plywood 0.5 x 2.5 feet
2. motor with gear 1 rpm 12 volts
3. aluminum rails 2.5 feet 2 pcs.
4. aluminum tape for lever 1 foot
5. any 12 volt adapter
6. a piece of acrylic or plywood 0.5 x 0.5 feet
7. bookend
8. an interesting book!
This motor runs quietly and does not interfere with reading. You can apply for a smaller voltage and reduce speed, but for me this was the optimal speed.
As you can see, on the levers have several holes. Because of this I can change the length of the lever and the amplitude of movement of the book. At first I could only read at an amplitude displacement of 0.5 feet. Gradually, it became easier to read and I increase the amplitude. A month later, I can easily read at an amplitude of 1.5 feet. My eyesight has improved significantly and it just happens, without long and tedious training.
Dad, thank you very much!
