Extreme WIFI Adapter

This instructable is going to teach you how to attach an antenna to a USB WIFI adapter.

Materials

You will need:
USB WIFI Adapter
Flat head screwdriver
External Antenna
Copper wire (about 1 mm)
Scissors and tape (or hot glue)

Tools (Not shown):
Drill
Hot Glue Gun

Take the Thing Apart!

Using your flat head screwdriver, gently pry apart the USB WIFI stick.
Now look your circuit board. Mine had a single little rectangle antenna inside. This is what the antenna should be connected to.

The Antenna...

Insert the copper wire into the small end of the antenna. Use hot glue to seal it.

Make a Hole in the Case

Mark out a hole on the top where the little antenna inside is. Drill it out, and bend the little metal you connected to the antenna about 80 degrees. Then put it through the hole and make sure the wire and antenna make contact. Then glue everything shut.

Testing

In testing before and after Windows showed the connection improved from "good" to "excellent".
The internet speed increased 10mbps! OMG!
In all this experiment was a complete success!
However in the future I would ground the antenna by soldering a wire from its ground to the ground on the USB port.
