Extension of the Paper Wallet

An extension of theRIAA's paper wallet
https://www.instructables.com/id/Paper-Wallet/

In spending a few days with the wallet and playing around with different features from a single sheet of paper, I realized a lot of this comes down to preference. Do you like secure cards? Easy visibility? One-handed access? Lots of storage?

So take what I've made and run with it!

Fold Paper

Fold the 8.5" x 11" paper once hamburger style. You'll get what you see in the first picture. Fold twice more in the same direction so you have four equal parts. With the first and fourth "panel" folded in, fold it in half.

Making Marks, Cutting, Folding Tabs

This is very similar to theRIAA's paper wallet. I've included dimensions that I used. Play around with different ones. If it looks symmetric, it probably is. Note here that you could do this on computer and print this out (as someone commented in theRIAA's instructable) You could print out to-do lists, bus schedules, phone numbers. You name it!

1. Make the marks
2. Cut along the marks you made
3. Tape 7 and 8 together

(you can play around with these folds, as these are the pockets for your cards. Again, I'm just documenting what I did)
With respect to the tabs that you just cut:
a. 1 and 2 should fold up.
b. 5 and 6 should fold up.
c. 7 and 8 should fold down.

Folding Together

Fold the quarter which has 1 and 2 onto 3 and 4.
Likewise for 7 and 8 onto 5 and 6.
Look at the lefthand side and it should match up with the third picture. Take a piece of tape to seal the cash pocket along with the inside-left hand card pocket. Again, you can play around with how you seal the various pockets.

Stuff the Wallet

The first picture shows a card in each of the inside pockets. Now a card is inserted into the outside-left hand pocket.

Then the tab is closed.

Then a piece of tape is placed to close it.

The yellow sticky note is an illustration in case you dont know how to fold a piece of tape over so that you can always pick it up (dont you hate it when you lose your place on a roll of packaging tape). The red shaded area of the sticky represents the non-adhesive side to your tape.

Do the same for the right hand outside pocket.

The next picture shows an example of the tape, but for sealing the wallet.

You're Done!

Insert cash.

Seal (and I really mean closing it with the intent of easily opening in the future)

It's so thin!

Put a todo list on it!

Because you can just use recycled paper, if it gets wet or beat up, just make a new one. In case you want to protect your cards or cash, place a layer of packing tape over those areas.

Thanks for bearing through my first instructable which was made late at night for the next day's assignment =P
