Exercise Your Second Amendment Rights With Lip Balm Gun

This instructable will show you how to construct a less-than-lethal, easily concealed, personal defense weapon. The design's only drawbacks are that it is a single shot weapon and it has the killing power of a marshmallow dropped from the height of two feet. You might be suprised by how far it shoots though. You'll lose the projectile before you know it!

I first learned of this technique back in fourth grade and no assault on my person has gone unavenged since.

The first thing to do is get yourself some lip balm. In my experience, Chap Stick works the best but feel free to experiment.

For this weapon, the one thing you don't need is the actual product. Chapped lips are a small price to pay for personal security.

It takes an extremely long time to use up an entire tube of Chap Stick. Pictured is a suggested procedure to speed things up a bit.

With your fingers, teeth or pliers, pull the balm advance knob back from the tube. It should just pop off. There is a plastic plunger on the end of that threaded shaft. If it came loose when you fully advanced the balm to bite it off, you can just push the plunger down a bit and screw it back in. Lefty tighty, righty loosey in this rare instance.

The shaft should be screwed into the plunger just a few turns in order to allow the maximum throw on the plunger.

Pull the knob all the way back, put on the cap and you're ready to shoot! Protective eyewear is strongly suggested. Amber or yellow tint is always best for shooting.

Sharply strike the plunger with your free hand in the manner shown below. Pressure builds in the tube and forcefully blows the cap off the end. Watch your aim!

Always practice gun safety. You should never hand somebody a loaded gun. For this reason, if anybody ever hands you a chap stick with the cap still on, punch them in the face.
