Essential Oil Sugar Scrub

How to make an essential oil sugar scrub!
List of Essential Oils and Uses:
Grapeseed oil- has antioxidants and is good for skin disorders Almond oil- Light and moisturizing, but greasy. Do not use if nut allergies
Olive oil- Moisturizing and good for stretch marks, but too greasy for face scrubs.
White sugar- Good for body, lip, and face scrubs
Coffee grinds- Gentle exfoliator on face and body, energizes, anti-oxidant properties when exposed to skin, improves circulation.
Coarse salt- Only used on feet or places with really thick skin, it would be too rough on the rest of your skin. Pulls toxins away from the body
Fine/ground salt- Pulls toxins away from the body and aids in anti-inflammatory. Is Antibacterial and good for sore muscles. (Best for sore muscles when accompanied by tea tree, eucalyptus, maybe ylang ylang)
Lavender- Reduce redness and inflammation
Chamomile- Reduce redness and anti-inflammatory
Geranium- Reduce wrinkles, slows aging
Teatree- Natural astringent
Peppermint- Energizing and cooling. Good for foot scrubs
Bergamot- Good for oily skin, anti-bacterial
Patchouli- Acne, eczema, and relaxant
Cedarwood- Anti-bacterial
Sage- Antibacterial
Vetiver- ADHD, anxiety, post-partum, insomnia, and skincare
Ylang-ylang- Cardiac arrhythmia, anxiety, hypertension
Eucalyptus- Expectorant, anti-bacterial, anti-ageing
Mix the Oil

- Once you gather the supplies, scoop 1 cup of coconut oil and put it into the mason jar.
- Then, scoop 2 cups of sugar and pour them into the mason jar as well.
- Proceed to mix the coconut oil and sugar together with a spoon until thoroughly integrated.
- (Optional Step) Briefly microwave the mixture for 30 seconds if the sugar and coconut oil don't integrate well.
- Note: The mixture will solidify over time— this step is only for ease of mixing

- Mix and test each essential oil on a paper towel to see which scent is favorable.
- Warning: Certain essential oils in high quantities can irritate the skin.
- Note: Certain essential oils are stronger than others— their scent may be overpowering.
- Once you find a good ratio and combination of essential oils, put several drops of each oil into the sugar scrub.
- Mix the sugar scrub, fully integrating the essential oils.
- Note: Make sure that the oils reach the bottom of the jar.
