Erase Ink From Paper With Chemistry
Do you want to remove ink stains from paper or has a friend written something on your notebook which you want to erase?
Fear not because you can erase ink using chemistry.
Supplies
- paper with ink stain.
- Acetone(Nail polish remover)
- cotton swab
Rub Acetone on Ink
dip the cotton swab in the bottle of acetone and rub it gently on the ink you want to erase.
Make sure you dont wet the paper too much or it may get damaged.
Let It Dry
Turn on the fan and let the paper dry for a few minutes.
When it's dry, most of the ink should have been cleaned, if not repeat step 1.
Where Does the Ink Go?
Pen Ink generally contains dyes, a solvent of oil or water and adhesive material for the ink to stick with the paper.
When you rub acetone on the ink, it reacts with the adhesive and breaks the bonds, therefore the dyes are nomore boumd to the paper and they dissolve in acetone thus cleaning the paper.
