Welcome to our interactive art project tutorial, where we explore the emotional impact of words on pets. This project demonstrates the tangible effects of positive and negative emotions through a crafted cat figure that changes color in response to inputs. Supplies
- Adafruit Circuit Playground Express
- Cardboard
- Colorful threads
- Glue
- Computer with Adafruit IDE installed for programming
Prepare the Cat Figure
- Draw a cat shape on the cardboard.
- Cover it with felt fabric using glue for a soft exterior.
Install the Electronics
- Cut out a heart shape in the center of the cat.
- Place the Adafruit Circuit Playground Express inside this heart cutout and secure it with glue.
Adding the Buttons
- Attach pink and purple buttons to the cat’s heart. These will serve as inputs for positive and negative emotional responses.
- Connect these buttons to the Adafruit board.
Programming
- Use the Microsoft MakeCode editor for Adafruit to write the code .
- Program the Adafruit to respond to button presses by changing the cat’s colors.
- Download the code and drag it into the Adafruit device connected to your computer.
Testing
- Test the setup by pressing the buttons. Observe the color changes to ensure everything is functioning as expected.
