Emergency Gift Wrap From Office Supplies

We all have had a day where things don't go as planned. You are at the office and her surprise party has already started!  The gift is on your desk  . . .but it has not been wrapped. Your file has 15 more minutes to complete and you are ready to fly out the door except for the gift wrapping. What do you do? Follow through and I will show you how to wrap an exceptional gift at the office without traditional wrapping paper.

​Used Priority box 
Plastic bag
Colored markers
2 Sided tape.
Scotch tape
Glue
2 Old Calendar pages with pictures or a magazine.
Thumb tack
Colored paper
String or use a tea bag for the string.
White out or paint
Toilet paper optional
Magnetic business card for closure; button or thumb tack (pictured) 
Small metal lid , floppy disc metal ring, washer, or something that a magnet will stick to; if using a magnet closure.
 

Scissors
Needle nose pliers 
Hole punch optional

Choose enough calender pages to cover the box.
Open the box.
Lay out the pages and coordinate.
See where you need to color the page so letters and unwanted areas are not going to show.  
Color in those areas using the markers or White out.
 

Place the pages over the box on the bottom side and fold under the edges of the paper to make it fit.
Starting with the bottom is best so if you make a mistake it won't be so noticeable.
Place two sided tape around the edges of the calender pages.
Glue the areas of the box so the pages will stick good.
Lay the pages over the area to paste and stick when you think it is about right.
Press down.
Flip the box over and repeat this step for the front page of the box.

If you want to use a magnetic closure you will need a strong magnet.
You can use 2 magnets or one magnet and a metal object.
Make 2 circles larger than the metal lid.
Tape the metal to one circle.
Place the metal lid inbetween the two circles.
Fold it in half. 
Glue the center of the front flap.
Slip the front flap between the folds of the metal lid.
Press hard.
Glue the magnet to the front of the box.
You can glue a round magnet on the front top flap for a button and write a letter on it.
OR
Remove the point of the tack with the needle nose pliers.
Glue the tack to the top front flap to make it look like a button or closure. 
Paint it or color with the marker if the color does not match 
 

Color the bubble wrap with the marker.
Wrap the gift with the bubble wrap.
Place it in the box.
Close and tape the lid.

Cut the plastic bag into a long strip.
Fold it in half. Fold it in half again. And one more time. 
Wrap it around the box starting on the top side of the box first.
Turn the box over and crisscross the strip and turn the box right side up and tie the ends together.
You may make a bow or just tape it and add a separate bow to it. I will show you how. 
 

Cut 2 shapes the same from the colored paper like I did for the leaves.
Punch a hole in the end carefully.
Add a piece of the string so it can be attached to the plastic strip or you could just tape it.
Write a name and message on the leaves.
Take a paper clip and bend  it in a heart shape using the pliers.
Tape or glue it to the leaf.
 

Tear off a stack of squares from the toilet paper roll.
Stack them in one stack.
Color all the edges with a marker.
Make a loop from the string.
Stick a tack in the center of the squares.
Snip off the sharp point using the pliers.
Pinch the center of the stack to form a flower.
Slip the loop over the end.
Pull tight.
Tie in a knot.
Tie the bow to the green strip.

I save all boxes that can be covered and re-used for storing things. They make great organizers for craft items, lunch boxes, and gift wrapping. I hope this has inspired you to cover a few!
