Embroidered Gift Labels
I wanted to make something special to label the gifts for this Christmas, something personal that could show I care for my people. And I remembered I had rescued some pieces of white cardboard that could be used as a base for embroidery...
Hope you like it.

1 Writting
Now, write the name of the person who'll get the present. This one is for my mum.
2 Making Holes
Now, follow the path of the letter making holes with the needle. These will be the guides for the embroidery, so try to make them as regular as posible.
3 Embroidering
Now it's time to embroider the letters. Use the holes to insert the needle, otherwise you'll ruin the cardboard.
I chose chain stich, because is my favorite.
We-ll take care of the knots later.

4 Hiding the Back
I really like how it looks on the front, but the back side is not so pretty....
But it's fine: if you did-t like that neither, all you have to do is bend the cardboard, so it will have an embroidered side and an empty side. Then you can cut it down to the size you want.

5 Embroidering the Sides
Now, to keep the sides together.
First, make holes following the borders of the cardboard (like step 2)
Then, embroider just as in step 3. You can keep with the chain stitch, but I like more this one for the edges (I don't know its name, sorry).
Finally, make a little knot, and pass the thread between the two layers of cardboard, to hide it

Done!
And that's all. Well, it took me about an hour to finish it, but I like it a lot, definitely more than those ugly stickers. Now all it needs is some thread to hang it from the present.
