Embossed Tinfoil Earrings!
These easy, beautiful earrings can be made with just a few materials, though they turn out amazing! I’m just a grade school student, and I was able to figure this out.
Supplies
For these simple, beautiful embossed tin foil earrings, you will need tin foil, foam, jewelry wire, wire cutters, earring hooks, card stock, a dull ballpoint pen, a normal pen, scissors, a glue stick, and a piece of paper.
Draw Your Design
First, you’re going to use your normal pen and paper to draw whatever design you want for your earrings. I chose this teardrop shape, and ornamented it with some spirals.
Imprint Design Into Foil
Now, put the foam down on a flat surface. Place the tinfoil on top of the foam. Position the paper on top of the tinfoil and trace over your beautiful design with the dull ballpoint. Don’t push so hard that your tinfoil rips, but make sure enough pressure is applied so you can see the design clearly.
Cut Tin Foil
All you have to do is use the scissors to cut out the tinfoil designs.
Cut Card-Stock
I roughly traced the outline of my earrings on a piece of card-stock, then folded it in half so I could cut both outlines at once. It doesn’t have to be perfect, as you’ll trim later.
Glue Tin Foil to Card-Stock
Simply apply glue to the card stock and carefully press your tinfoil on top. Trim any bits of card-stock peeking out.
Adding the Wire
To begin creating the earring, place the design on foil and poke holes at the tops with a pin, needle, or honestly anything sharp and pointy. Thread the wire through.
Finishing the Earrings
Last step! All you have to do is thread the wire through the earring hooks, fold over tightly, and twist to secure. I hope you enjoy your gorgeous embossed tin foil earrings!
