This is a fun and easy craft, turning trash into treasure. You can paint and decorate the tubes however you like, and assemble them to create a handy pencil holder. Have fun!

What you'll need:

Five toilet-paper tubes

A large paintbrush and a smaller paintbrush

Acrylic Paint (I used gold, black, and white)

A piece of cardstock paper

Scissors

Ribbon or cord

Hot Glue

You can use whatever colors or patterns you want, but for this Elvish-themed project, I painted them gold and white. In the next step, I'll be writing the elvish on them.

Now you can plan how you want to design each of the tubes.

Above are some pictures of the Elvish writing around the edges. You can copy what I drew, or you can go here for more Elvish. I just wrote random quotes from fandoms :)

Now for the gold tubes. You can have fun coming up with any design you like, or you can copy mine. Using a small paint brush, paint ripples around the top and bottom of the three tubes. Then with the end of your paint brush, paint dots of black under and above each ripple.

Glueing the Tubes

Once your tubes are dry, arrange your five tubes how you like them. Then, use a hot glue gun to glue the sides of the tubes together. Hot glue dries pretty fast, but be careful to wait til it's dry to continue to the next tube. Once they're firmly glued together, clean up the strings of glue from the tubes.

To keep your pencils and pens from falling out the bottom, we're going to glue a piece of cardstock to the bottom.

To begin, set your glued tubes on top of a piece of cardstock paper. With a pencil or pen, trace all around the tubes. Then cut along the lines. From there, simply glue the paper to the bottom of the five tubes, and your're done.

Cord

Tie your cord or ribbon around the five tubes for added effect. Use glue if needed.

Finished!
