Eliminating Powdery Mildew

Well don't fret, I wrote this article just for you! Powdery Mildew is an extremely common issue, and it look just plain bad in your garden. We all want a bright green garden that is thriving and full of goodies!

What is Powdery Mildew?

Powdery Mildew is one of the easier plant diseases to diagnose. PM is a fungal disease that attacks any above ground part of a plant. The fungus thrives in a high humidity and temperate climate as is with most spore type fungus's.

although PM can be wiped off from the leaves, you will be most likely spreading it around at the same time. You will need something to treat the problem with.

There are a few different plans of attack you can choose, lets look into those.

Now that you understand why you have Powdery Mildew, it's time to choose a product or a home remedy to cure this little fungus problem.

Lets get into your options for mildew remedies:

You can either

• Choose a product from a store (reccomended)
• Make a home remedy

It is always best to get a tested product from a store, preferably something that does not contain harsh pesticides!

There are ways to save money and create a product from home to keep Powdery Mildew at bay.

I've tested so many products to try and get rid of PM and none of them seemed to do the trick as good as Instant Mite Killer. I know it may seem weird to use a spider mite killer for powdery mildew, but i does contain the right concentration of natural ingredients.

You can also use a mixture of baking soda and water with a couple drops of kitchen soap to insure your solution adheres. essentially you are trying to change to topical PH of your plants leaves so the fungus cant survive.

Now that your ready to treat your plant. lets take a look at how to apply it.

you might have bought a concentrate from the store or made your own, either way you will need to mix it into a spray bottle. Most concentrates like Instant Mite Killer tell you to mix one ounce of concentrate to one gallon of water.

I like to use a nice atomizer that you pump full of pressure to get a finer mist. Now go ahead and treat the infected ares of your plant with you chosen solution.

I recommend wiping the leaves a little bit then spray!

The solutions you use to get rid of powdery mildew are preventative and DO NOT CURE your plant. So reapplication will be necessary. Powdery mildew is carried threw the air via spores and populate as long as their environment is right.

As long as you prevent, Pm wont come! Keep an eye out and keep you r solution handy in case you need to re-apply
