Start Your Necklace
First of all, place your quarter in the vice. Attatch the small ball attatchment to your Dremel, and try to make a hole in the middle of the quarter. Once you do that, enlarge the hole until the quarter looks like a hollowed out ring.
Grind Your Necklace
Next, attach the medium size grinder to your Dremel. Grind off the grooved edges of the quarter, then grind off the pictures stamped into the quarter. You can keep them if you want, but it looks better if the pictures and words are ground off. Make sure you are wearing eye protection, and remember that the quarter can get very hot during this step. I burned my wood vice during this step, and my quarter even began to burn and start smoking. If this happens to you, don’t worry because the discoloration caused by the burning will come off during the polishing step. You also might want to keep a bowl of water or a sink nearby because the quarter might need a quick cooling.
Polish Your Necklace
Next, attach the metal brush to your Dremel. Polish the face and the edges of your quarter, and make sure that there are no sharp edges. After you finish this step, your quarter should look silver to rose gold color.
Enjoy!
You’re all done now! Hang your quarter on a necklace chain and it looks like a really elegant necklace. I hope you enjoyed this project!
