Electronic Organizer Station

When I was at school I only had a solder station with a separate electronic kit. This produced a lot of disorganization and I had to talk to my peers and instructors for supplies. I also know this was an issue because I wasn't the only student doing this. This was the idea that would help centralize all needed supplies to allow anyone to be organized and have convenient access.

Normally electronic components are stored in a box or cubby-like container. If this can be combined with wiring and soldering then you can make workflow more efficient. The nicest-looking set-up of wires is when they have a rack of different color wire spools, which I wanted within the design. Then I wanted enough space for the better-end solder stations to fit. Since this is what we use in school, it is also very convenient to use its properties (i.e. controlling temperature).

The question was how can I integrate the three major categories into a single organized product. The soldering station definitely had to be at the bottom and most likely to the right for righthanded users. I thought of what needs more space, wires or electronics, and concluded that you can have as much variety of electronics as you can think of therefore more space for the organization is needed for that. What is sketched out is how I envisioned all the components to be separated and accessed. Top with electronics and miscellaneous, bottom left with wiring and solder, and bottom right with the soldering station.

Step 1: Forming the base frame with the boards into: base, wall, and separators.

Step 2: Added cubbies with a backboard to the top and rod to hold the wiring to the bottom left section.

Step 3: Imported from Grabcad: Soldering Iron, Solder Holder, Sponge, and Solder temperature controller. Implemented these into the bottom right section.

Step 4: Created cavities to fit the soldering station nicely in

Step 5: Filled in with objects from Grabcad: wires, solder, breadboard, wire clipper, RasberryPi, etc. Also added color and texture to these objects.

As you can see the overview is three sections: Soldering Station, Wire spool rack, and cubbies for miscellaneous items. The required materials to construct: 8 wood boards, 12 screws, and 1 metal rod. The boards are specially crafted and include slots for the soldering station and piecing them together. The sliding allows for an easy assembly of the boards and components. The metal rod is slid in and out for refills of wiring and solder.

Here is the final render with the design in its natural habitat. An all-in-one electronic station that would be useful for anyone no matter the experience. I would have loved to have this at my school.
