Cable Required to Connect Everything

1 Bike of your choosing

Collect Materials

Collect all of the materials listed above. It is definitely easier to visualize if all parts are together so we suggest finding all of them.

Create Wood Housing for Motor

wheel on its own.jpg

Cut down 2 by 4 wood to fit adequately around motorized wheel. There must be a place for the wheel's axel to fit, so remember that when building.

Attach Build to Bike Using Hanger Strap

assembled wheel.jpg

Put the hanger strap around the seat of the bike and drill into the wood. It should sit snuggly on the original wheel of the bike. Remember to face the motorized wheel opposite of the original bike wheel, or the motor will push the bike wheel backwards.

Attach Throttle, Controller, and Battery to Bike

Main Picture.jpg

There isn't a set way to do this. This step requires pre planning by each individual. As shown in our picture, we attached the battery and controller to the main bar of the bike, and the throttle is near the handlebars. This would be the suggested orientation, but modifications can be made based on the length of your cables.

Wire Everything

Electrical Block Diagram.jpg

USE EXTREME CAUTION ON THIS STEP AS THE VOLTAGES IN THESE BATTERIES ARE VERY HIGH! NEVER TOUCH THE POWER AND GROUND OF THE BATTERY AT THE SAME TIME!

Begin connecting your components with your cables. The connections are shown in the picture.

Test Thoroughly

Before riding your bike, ensure that all of your cable connections are safe. Also, check to make sure your wheel spins at a safe speed.
