Efficient and Minimal Desk Organizer
What should be considered when creating a desk organizer? Well, I believe that the number one consideration that we should look at when creating a desk organizer would be the efficiency of how the desk organizer will be used and the ergonometric and minimalism of the design. I designed this desk organizer so that it is efficient in organizing your supplies while also having it all in one place and not looking for your supplies under your bed. Not only that the organizer is efficient but also an organizer that is pleasing to look at.
Supplies
Computer/PC
Designed in Onshape
Create Sketch Plane and Sketch of Organizer
First, you must pick the sketch plane. I picked the top plane to eventually extrude the sketch. After I started to sketch how the organizer will be divided.
Extrude & Shell the Sketches
Then extrude the sketch to be added right after you make the shape. Right after, shell out the sketch to make the inside hollow to put supplies in. After that, you repeat the steps to the other shapes and create the supplies storage of the organizer.
Creating the Whiteboard and the Marker
Create a sketch in the left front side of the organizer and find the center point of the shape. Then create a point at the center. After, you will be able to use the center point square and create a square of your own. Extrude the shape to be added. The measurement should be 0.1 inches. Then create another sketch on top of the whiteboard and make the shape of a marker. Extrude it after and add colors to the parts.
Add Second Whiteboard, Eraser, and Magnets
Create the sketch and extrude the sketch right after. Again, the measurement of the extrude should be 0.1 inches. After creating the whiteboard, Create a sketch and make a rectangular shape in the whiteboard. After, extrude the shape to be 0.3 inches. To design the magnets, create circular shapes by using the center point circle. It should be 1 inch all the same size. Include as many as you need. Then extrude the circular shapes to be 0.5 inches. Then fillet the circular shapes to create that smooth look. It should be 0.5 inches.
Creating the Post-it Holders
Create a plane to design the post-it holder by using the front plane as the base and the vertex of the point in the side of the organizer. Right after, design the holder in an L shape in the top half of the organizer. Repeat the step for the bottom part of the organizer. Extrude the shape to be symmetrical to the other one and to be centered in sides.
Add Decorations and Finishing Touches
To add the post-it, create a sketch on the side of the organizer. Then sketch the rectangular shape of the post-its. After, extrude the shapes and add the bright colors that post-it is known for. Then, in the big compartment of the organizer, create the small books with sketches of rectangular-shaped and extrude them to highlight the efficiency of the organizer.
