Some jewelry is just so pretty that you want to eat it up. Now, you can! Even better, one bag of candy kept my children occupied for hours!

Supplies

  • Starbursts or other shapeable candy
  • Toothpick
  • Knife (optional)
  • Cutting board or plate
  • Elastic string, clean

Dividing Candies

Divide Starburst chews into 8 equal pieces for smaller shapes. Divide them into 2 or 4 equal pieces for larger shapes.

Charm Shapes

Roll and shape pieces into various charms. Consider animals, shapes, food, monster trucks, flowers, and anything else that sparks your imagination. Add details such as spots and lines with the tip of the toothpick.

Ring Attachment

If your shape needs a hook to attach it, roll a piece into a thin snake. Fold it into a ring shape and pinch the ends together. Carefully attach it to the charm using a toothpick. Repeat with each charm.

Keep charms on wrappers to keep them from sticking together while you work.

Filler Beads

Roll the candy into round, oblong, or square shapes. Have some fun. Shape with a hole or gently push the toothpick through the shape to add a hole.

Roll snakes or shapes to make rings and bracelets.

Bead It

Place your beads and charms on your elastic string. Wrap any rings or bracelets around your finger or wrist. Tie the end with a square knot to keep it together.

Show it off before you chew it off!
