Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Everyone secretly loves cookie dough but because it has raw flour and raw eggs – it kind of makes it less desirable. I am going to show you how to make perfectly safe Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough that is sweet, chocolatey and creamy, perfect when you need something sweet that comes together quickly. Now you CAN’T bake this cookies dough because there isn't any eggs to bind the cookies together so don’t try that. Supplies
Ingredients
- 1 cup (136 g) all-purpose flour, heat treated to kill bacteria
- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter room temperature
- ½ cup (110 g) packed dark brown sugar
- 3 Tablespoons (40 g) sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 2-3 tablespoon (30-44 g) milk
- ½ teaspoon (2 g) vanilla extract
- ¼ cup (41g) mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Heat-Treat the Flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 C) and line a baking sheet with parchment. Spread flour evenly on baking sheet and bake for 5-10 mins or until the flour reaches 160 F. Cool completely.
Edible Cookie Dough
Add room temperature butter, brown sugar, sugar and salt to a standing mixture and whip together until pale and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes. Scrape the sides and whip again.
Add Milk and Vanilla
Add in 1 ½ tablespoons (22 g) of milk and the vanilla extract and combine.
Sift Flour
Sift flour and add to standing mixer.
Beat and Add Extra Milk
Add in flour and blend just to combined, while adding milk ½ tablespoon (7 g) at a time to thin (if needed).
