Easy to Make Pretty Cardboard IPad Stand

IMG_6324.jpg

I decided to make an iPad stand because they are really helpful and I tried to make it look cool :)

Supplies

REQUIRED:

Cardboard (Cardboard from an Amazon box will work)

Scissors

Packing tape

Hot glue gun

OPTIONAL (If you want yours to have a galaxy on it):

Black spray paint

Purple spray paint

Pink regular paint

Purple regular paint

Glow in the dark paint OR white regular paint

Getting the Size Correct

Get a piece of cardboard and put your iPad on it. Then, using a pen, draw lines about an inch away from each of the sides of your iPad. Then, cut it out. It should be a bit bigger than your iPad

Making the Support

Cut a piece of carboard that is the same length as the length of your original piece and at least 4 inches wide. Then, fold it in half so that the length stays the same but the width changes. Then, open up the fold so it is at a 90 degree angle, place it on your cardboard, and the angle should form a triangle. Cut out the triangle it makes. Repeat on the other side

Attaching the Support

Using the packing tape, attach the triangles you made to each side of the support. Then hot glue the support onto the original rectangle (the one you made first) To make the iPad be able to balance on the support, take a small rectangle of cardboard and glue it on as shown in the third picture.

Making It Stand

To make it stand, take the first piece of carboard you cut, the one we attached the support to. Then, make sure it is bent at the angle you want for your iPad. Stand it up on the cardboard and draw the triangle it forms. Cut that triangle out, and the repeat on the other side. Then, using the edge of something like a table, bend the triangle as shown in the third picture. Similar to the first step when we made triangles, make triangles for this. Attach them like it is shown in the fifth picture. Hot glue both of them onto the original piece of cardboard.

Painting!

Your iPad should be able to rest on the iPad stand right now. But... it looks a bit boring. So let's paint it! I did a galaxy for mine, but you can paint whatever you want on yours. Here is how I did the galaxy. First, I spray painted the entire thing black. Next, I added a bit of purple spray paint. Then, using pink and purple paint, I made it look more colorful and vibrant. For the stars, I used glow in the dark paint. if you don't have glow in the dark paint or don't like the way it looks, you can use white paint.
