Easy to Build Cardboard Arcade Basketball Machine
Easy to Build Cardboard Arcade Basketball Machine. For ages 6+. Should take about 1 hour depending on skill level to make it the first time. Feel free to make 2 stick them together and have a 2 player machine. Play using a rolled piece of tape or a scrunched piece of paper.
Supplies
1 Cardboard box
Sticky tape / hot glue (hot glue is better both will work
Paper
Plastic cutlery / Popsicle stick
Rubber band / hair tie
Prepare Cardboard
Cut cardboard as shown above and save for later use.
Stick the Pieces Together So They Can Stand Alone
As shown above, stick the 3 pieces together either using tape or hot glue.
Cut a Cardboard Rectangle and Place It on a Slight Angle So That Ball Can Roll
As seen above, stick a rectangle with equal width to the 3 pieces and use sticky tape or hot glue
Cut a Piece of Paper to Make a Ring
Cut a piece of paper into a strip and then tape or glue or staple the 2 ends together (hole punching optional). Stick on as shown above. Feel free to draw a backboard with a sharpie.
Make the Launcher Holder
Get 2 small pieces of cardboard and 1 large rectangle and put them together to form what looks like a table. First stick the 2 as shown above and then place the one on top securing it with tape or hot glue.
Make the Launcher
Get 2 pieces of plastic cutlery of any kind or get 2 Popsicle sticks.
Cutlery - cut each piece so its just the handles of both, get a hair tie and wrap it so that both are stuck together. Roll up a piece of tape into a small tube and place it between the 2 handles. Stick the cap of a water bottle on the top to hold that ball.
Popsicle sticks - Secure 2 Popsicle sticks together with a rubber band or hair tie. Roll up a piece of tape into a small tube and place it between the 2 sticks. Stick the cap of a water bottle on the top to hold that ball.
How to Play
Place a small piece of paper scrunched up into the bottle cap on the launcher, pull it down using the bottle cap as a handle, let go and try and get it in. If it isn't making the distance tighten the rubber band, if its going to far loosen the rubber band.
